Robert "Bob" Brown

US Army

X Korea
June 1950 to May 1951  with the
5th Regimental Combat Team

  Vietnam
1965-66 with the
1st Cavalry Division

Bob Brown is my uncle - my father's "little" brother. As a kid, I remember a really big (6'4"), quiet guy who came to the house for a visit now and then.  I also remember some worry about him while he was in Vietnam. I was 13 at the time and recall some comments about Uncle Bob already "earning" his purple heart in Korea. Bob served as an NCO for most of his 20 years service with the Army - one of the guys who quietly carried the load and served during some very difficult times.
He lives today in Newport News Virginia.
